Spout Springs Emergency Services News Section.

Aug 12, 2004:

An F1 tornado touched down in parts of the Spout Springs fire district.  Numerous homes were damaged, 3 homes were totally destroyed, 3 businesses were destroyed, and 3 people were injured.  The whole write-up is available, along with pictures, at album 17.

July 24, 2004:

The firefighters participated in a car wash at the Food Lion to raise money for the firefighter's association.  We raised over $250 and washed lots of cars.  During our car wash, the folks from the Sherwood Forest sub-division gave the firefighters of Spout Springs an appreciation luncheon.  Well, we appreciate you folks too.  Thanks.  Pictures at album 16.

July 17, 2004:

The 3rd annual Crepe Myrtle Motorcycle Fest took place.  Nearly one hundred motorcycles stopped by our station as part of their ride.  Pictures are available at album 15.

June 29, 2004:

Mr. Brad Smith, a long-time member of the department, has moved to Georgia.  We sent him off with a dinner in his honor.  Pictures are available at album 14.  He will be missed.  Take care, Brad!

June 25, 2004:

We had an instructor from the REDS Team come by and give us a 3-day class on hand tools for vehicle extrication.  Pictures are up at album 13.

June 19, 2004:

NC Forestry brought us up to speed on how to properly use a chain saw to fell trees.  Pictures at album 12.

June 05, 2004:

The 2004 Crepe Myrtle Motorcycle Fest Poker Run brought motorcycles from around the state to our station.  Pictures available at album 11.
